Download failed or blocked by a firewall
What to try when a Fetch family won't download, is blocked by your company network, or won't open in your version of Revit.
Fetch pluginRevit 2023–2027Updated
Families download two ways: from fetchbim.com, or inside Revit with the Fetch plugin. If one doesn't work, try the other.
Downloading from the website
- Sign in. You need a confirmed account to download.
- Open the family's page and find the Revit section. It lists one file for each Revit version, for example "Revit 2025".
- Select the file for your version of Revit.
- If nothing happens, check your browser's downloads list. Some browsers block a download until you allow it.
Downloading in Revit
The Fetch plugin inserts families straight into your project, in the right Revit version. If you haven't installed it, see Install Fetch.
If your company network blocks it
Downloads and sign-in can fail on networks that block unfamiliar sites. Ask your IT team to allow the addresses listed in Deploy Fetch for your team.
If the family won't open in Revit
Revit can't open a family saved in a newer version than yours.
- On the website, each family is listed once per Revit version (2023 to 2027). Download the file that matches your Revit.
- In Revit, the Fetch plugin picks the right version for you.
