Deploy Fetch for your team

What IT and BIM managers need to roll out the Fetch Revit plugin. System requirements, how the installer works, network addresses to allow, and what Fetch sends.

Fetch pluginRevit 2023–2027Updated

Fetch is a free Revit plugin from Southwest Solutions Group (SSG) that places manufacturer families in Revit projects. This page covers what you need to approve and install it for your team.

Requirements

Operating systemWindows 10 or 11
Revit2023 to 2027
RuntimeMicrosoft Edge WebView2 (the installer adds it if missing)
AccountA free Fetch account for each user

How the installer works

  • Per-user install. Fetch installs into the signed-in user's profile (%APPDATA%\Southwest Solutions Group\Fetch), not Program Files. Each Revit user runs the installer while signed in as themselves.
  • Signed. The installer and the add-in are signed by Southwest Solutions Group. The first time Revit starts with Fetch, it asks whether to load the add-in; users choose Always Load.
  • Choose Revit versions. The installer's Select Components page installs the plugin for Revit 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 (Full installation), or only the versions you tick. It needs about 25 MB of disk space.
  • Revit closed. Close Revit before installing or upgrading.

Get the installer from Download Fetch on fetchbim.com.

Network access

Fetch needs to reach these addresses over HTTPS (port 443). If your firewall or web filter blocks unfamiliar sites, allow:

  • fetchbim.com
  • app.fetchbim.com
  • bimservice.ssgbim.com
  • www.ssgbim.com

If downloads or sign-in fail on your network, see Download failed or blocked by a firewall.

Email

Account emails (confirmation codes and password resets) come from donotreply@fetchbim.com. If your mail filter quarantines automated email, allow that address so new users can confirm their accounts.

What Fetch sends

Families and product data flow from Fetch into Revit. In the other direction, Fetch records:

  • the signed-in user's account,
  • what they search for, insert and download,
  • for projects that use Fetch content, basic project information and which Fetch products the project contains, so sync and update know what to refresh.

Fetch doesn't upload your Revit model files.
